What makes Lenz Studio different?

Simply put, we understand the importance of your wedding day and we have the talent, technical skills, and artistic ability to turn your wedding day into your once-in-a-lifetime story.  We do not treat any two weddings alike.  While there are similarities, we treat each wedding as our most important so we can reach and exceed your standards as well as ours.   We are a husband and wife team determined to capture for you, all the wonderful memories and emotions we experienced on our wedding day.

Why do I need video if I have a photographer?

When planning their wedding, a couple rarely thinks twice about having photos of one of the most special days of their lives. They know that they want photos in order to capture images of this important day. Imagine if these photos could move. Imagine if you could see what happened before, during and after the photo was taken. Imagine if you could hear all the sounds, music, laughter and voices that accompanied these moments. This is exactly why more couples than ever before are complimenting the photos with a professionally produced wedding video. These videos will become instant family heirlooms allowing the couple, as well as generations to come, to relive all the sights and sounds of the wedding day.

Why professional video?

While an amateur video is better than no video, your friends or relative do not likely have the professional cameras, sound and editing equipment that professional videographers use.  While they may have the best of intentions, they also most likely do not have the experience and know-how to produce a great video.  A professional understands the creative and technological aspects needing to be implemented in order to artistically create a wedding video that will truly capture, not only your wedding day, but also your wedding story.  A professional has the understanding, familiarity and readiness to be on top of things as they happen so as to insure they are captured creatively and forever.  Your wedding day is too important to not insure it is preserved as best as possible rather than being left to chance.

How does a “good” video differ from a “great” video?

A good video captures the appropriate moments of your day.  A great video captures all the moments, the emotion, the laughter and the tears and combines them with beautiful music and preserves them for generations to relive over and over again.  A great video has crystal clear sound, accurate colors as well as composed camera angles and movements.  We encourage you to compare and you will see for yourself that there are good and then there are great wedding video and videographers.

How important is the use of digital cameras?

In past years, VHS and 8mm cameras were used to videotape weddings.  At the time, that was what was available, however the quality of today’s digital cameras is much higher than non-digital cameras.  A 3 chip digital camera captures red, green and blue light on separate chips in order to provide color accuracy many times better than non-digital cameras.  These cameras are also able to operate very effectively in low-light situations.   Due to the smaller size of digital equipment, we are also able to remain less obtrusive than others who use the older, larger equipment.  Since we capture footage and then edit that footage digitally, we encounter no loss in quality.

How will Lenz Studio prepare for my wedding?

We will meet with you to discuss video styles as well as your ideas, questions, concerns, likes and dislikes.  We will ask you questions to insure we have a thorough understanding of what you want.  We will attend your rehearsal in order to get a complete understanding of the events to take place on your wedding day.  At the rehearsal we will also meet with your officiate, familiarize myself with the important people and determine the best locations to set up my equipment.  On the wedding day we will show up early in order to setup our equipment and be completely prepared well ahead of time.

Will the taping be disruptive?

Absolutely not.  The digital equipment we use is compact in size and silent in operation.  We use high quality, long lasting batteries to eliminate any need for power cords.  We do not require any power cables or microphone cables. We also avoid the use of lighting equipment during the ceremony by using high-quality camera equipment capable of producing excellent picture quality in situations ranging from bright to dim light.

How good is the sound quality?   Will we be able to hear our vows on the video?

We have the groom wear a tiny, but high quality wireless microphone so we can capture your vows and other comments in crystal clear clarity.  During our editing of the ceremony, we can edit out any unwanted audio from this microphone.

How will Lenz Studio work with photographers?

Since both we and the photographer are at your wedding as your wish, we make it a point to always coordinate efforts with the photographer.  We will determine where each of us will need to be when and what we can expect from one another.  In additional to the photographer, we will consult with your wedding planner, officiant and DJ to insure to coordinate our efforts in order to provide the best service for you.

What editing will you do, is it important?  What will be taking out?

Proper editing is what makes your wedding video into a wedding story complete with music, subtle transitions, slow motion, etc.   It is this artistically creative editing that takes what we tape and turns it into an emotional and enjoyable wedding video.  We take special care to not cut out any important footage, however we can refine or eliminate any unwanted or drawn out portions from the original taping.  Editing also allows us to reorganize the footage and create a pleasing flow from one scene to another.   Professional editing is one of the key elements that will set a professionally created wedding video apart from an amateur video.

How long will my wedding video be?

When we meet prior to the wedding, we will determine which video style you wish to have as well as any editing-down you may want.  A wedding video can range from 1 hour to 2 hours.

How soon should I book with Lenz Studio?

Popular dates tend to be scheduled quickly.  It is not uncommon to book a year or even 2 in advance.

How long does it take to produce my video?

The amount of time needed to create your video depends on the package and options you select.  We will be happy to discuss our current average turnaround times with you.

How will the videographer be dressed?

We dress in order to blend in with the guests.  We will not come underdressed and we will not come overdressed.

How many cameras do you use and why?

We use either two or three cameras, depending on what you select.  In order to capture enough footage from more than one angle, we use no fewer than two cameras.

Do you have sample videos that I can see?

Will you go to a park or beach between the ceremony and reception?

Yes, at no additional charge.
